Terms of service

What Product Studio does, what you are buying, what you may do with the images, and what we do not promise.

Version 2026-09-13.2, in effect from 13 September 2026.

Who you are dealing with

The company operating Product Studio is not named here yet, because the name has not been configured. Until it is, read these terms as a description of how the service works rather than as a contract with a named company, and ask us before relying on them.

What the service is

You upload a photograph of a product and tell us how tall it is. We remove its background, and place it into a room we rendered in advance, at the scale your measurement implies. You get back a set of photographs of your product in that room.

The images are generated by third-party AI models — today Google's Gemini image models and OpenAI's image models — which we call with your photograph and a text description of the scene. Which model runs a given shoot is our choice and may change.

Generated images are not unique and we do not promise that they are. Two sellers with similar products in the same room can receive similar pictures, and nothing in a generated image is guaranteed to be original enough to be protected as a work of authorship. If uniqueness matters to your use, do not rely on ours.

A render is a picture of your product, not a photograph of it. Details, textures, reflections and small features can be wrong. We check every frame automatically against the empty room and against your own photograph, but that check is a filter and not a guarantee. Look at what you get before you publish it.

Your photograph, and the permission you give us

Your photograph stays yours. You give us permission to store it, copy it, remove its background, resize it and send it to the AI providers named above, for as long as it takes to produce your images and to keep your account working. That permission ends when you delete the product or your account.

You promise that you have the right to give us that permission: that you own the photograph or are licensed to use it, that the product in it is yours to sell, and that neither the photograph nor the product infringes anyone else's rights.

We do not train any model of our own on your photographs or your renders. We send them to Google and OpenAI to produce your images; what those companies do with data sent to their APIs is governed by their own terms, not by ours.

What you may do with the images

On any paid plan the images are yours to use commercially: your shop, your ads, your social accounts, print. No extra fee, no expiry, and that does not end when your plan does — images you made while subscribed stay licensed to you afterwards.

The free preview is different. Without an account you get one shoot, rendered for real and delivered watermarked. That preview is licensed to you only so you can judge the result. Do not publish it or remove the watermark.

We do not claim ownership of your images, and we do not use them in our own marketing unless you tell us we may.

Plans, and what a shoot is

The unit you buy is a shoot: one product in one room. Every colourway of that product, every camera angle the room has, every download size, and its free retries all come inside the one shoot.

  • Pro — $39 a month for 5 shoots a month.
  • Studio — $59 a month for 15 shoots a month.
  • Business — arranged per customer, so its allowance is whatever your agreement says.
  • Packs of extra shoots, from $25 for 3. Packs are a one-off purchase and never expire.

Monthly shoots reset on your own billing anniversary and do not roll over. Retries are free: each frame can be re-rendered up to 3 times within the shoot that made it, and we may refuse further retries.

Automatic top-ups, if you switch them on, are a standing instruction to charge your saved card when a shoot needs more than you have left. You choose the pack size, we tell you how many times it can fire in a billing period, and you can switch it off at any time in your studio.

When a shoot is charged, and when it is not

A shoot is spent when you press Create, before anything renders. It is not spent per image, and adding another colourway does not cost another shoot.

If the shoot never starts — the system could not accept the work — nothing is charged and the press leaves your allowance untouched.

If a shoot produces no usable image at all, the shoot goes back to your allowance automatically — the same allowance it came from, in the same month it was taken from. A shoot that produces some images but not the ones you hoped for stays spent: a frame you do not like is a judgement about quality, and we would rather give you the shoot back for a clear failure than guess at taste. Write to us if a shoot went wrong and we will look at it.

None of this affects any refund or cancellation right you have by law where you live.

Renewal and cancellation

A plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel it. Cancel any time in billing; the plan then runs to the end of the period you have already paid for, and is not renewed.

We do not refund the unused part of a period you have paid for. Packs of shoots are bought outright, never expire, and are not refunded once bought.

Payments are taken by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number.

What you may not do

  • Photograph anything unlawful to sell, or anything whose sale needs a licence you do not hold.
  • Upload a photograph, product or brand you do not have the right to use, or ask for a scene that copies someone else's protected work.
  • Upload images of people, or anything that is not a product you are selling.
  • Work around the limits: sharing an account, scripting the service, running it through proxies or many browsers to take more free previews than the limits allow, or getting past a queue or a rate limit by any other route.
  • Resell access to the service, or run it on someone else's behalf as a bureau, unless we have agreed that in writing.

Every shoot costs us real money with the AI providers, which is why the limits exist and why we enforce them. We may refuse, queue or stop work, and may suspend or close an account that breaks this section.

Availability

We do not promise the service is available at any particular time. Shoots are queued when the system is busy, and an AI provider being slow, rate-limited or down will stop shoots from finishing. There is no uptime commitment on any self-serve plan.

What we do not promise

The service is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a render will be accurate, that it will suit your listing, that it will be free of errors, or that it will be fit for any particular purpose. Nothing here excludes a warranty that the law where you live does not let us exclude.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from your studio. Closing it deletes your products, your uploaded photographs and your renders, and cancels any active subscription; the privacy notice explains exactly what is deleted and what is kept.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we are required to close. If we close your account without cause we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

Changes to these terms

Each version of these terms carries a version number and the date it took effect, both shown at the top of this page. When you subscribe we record which version you agreed to, so what you agreed to can be looked up rather than assumed.

We may change these terms. A changed version applies to your next renewal, not retroactively to a period you have already paid for.
